Former Orono High School multi-sport athlete Jackson Coutts made his professional baseball debut on Friday night for the Fredericksburg Nationals, the rookie team of the Washington Nationals.
Coutts went 2-4 with two singles and a run scored as Fredricksburg downed the Salem Red Sox 2-1 at FredNats Stadium in Fredericksburg, Virginia for their first win of the season (1-15). Coutts, who had just finished his junior season of college baseball at the University of Rhode Island, signed a free agent contract with the Nationals back on June 15, 2020.
