Red Sox, Sea Dogs to play two on Wednesday

July 27, 2021

The Boston Red Sox and the Portland Sea Dogs were both postponed on Tuesday night in home contests due to rain. Both teams will play two seven inning games on Wednesday at Fenway Park and Hadlock Field respectively.

Both clubs will enter play in first place in their respective divisions, with the Sox in the American League East and the Sea Dogs in the Northern Division of the Northeast League (Double A). Boston owns the best record in the A.L. (62-39), while Portland (45-24) recently had a 15 game win streak and have won 18 of their last 19 overall.

Boston plays Toronto in game one at 2:10 p.m., with the second normally scheduled game to get underway at 7:10. Portland also faces the Blue Jays Double A team the New Hampshire Fisher Cats with game one at 5 p.m., and the second game 30 minutes after. Our very own Chris Lessner will be in attendance for game two at Fenway Park.
