BANGOR- Old Town put three players in double figures on Saturday morning, led by 19 points from Madelynn Emerson and cruised to a 68-39 Class B North quarterfinal girls win over the Caribou Vikings at the Cross Insurance Center.
Old Town (19-1) showed why they are the top seed, scoring the first nine points of the game and never trailing taking a commanding 25-8 advantage after the opening eight minutes. The Coyotes got contributions from five different scorers in the second quarter and led 42-19 at halftime. The lead went to as many as 32 in the fourth as Old Town advances to a Wednesday 3:30 p.m. semifinal against Presque Isle.
Emerson added five rebounds to her game high point total in the Old Town win. Sydney Loring had 16 points and six rebounds, and Saige Evans added a double double with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Selena Savage led Caribou in the loss with 11 points, and Abby Leahy had 10. The #8 Vikings end their season at 10-10.
