The University of Maine Field Hockey team improved to 3-0 on Friday afternoon by defeating home standing Hofstra in Hempstead, NY by a score of 4-1.
Madison Cummings had two goals on the day for Maine while Danielle Aviani had a goal and two assists for three points on the afternoon. Freshman and America East Rookie of the week Brianna Ricker also scored for the Bears, her third tally of the early season.
Hofstra (1-2) got their goal from Madison Suave on an assist from Stella Schoen.
Maine has outscored their three opponents by a 17-3 margin so far and outshot them 66-15.
Maine returns home to face Dartmouth at the Maine Field Hockey Complex on Monday afternoon September 5th at 1 p.m.
