Fernando Oliveira recorded a hat trick, while Kyle Jankunas had a goal and two assists in leading Foxcroft Academy to a 5-2 boys soccer victory over Old Town at Old Town High School Tuesday night.
Carlos Rodriguez had the other goal for the 8-5-1 Ponies, while Mateo Mendez, Donnie Poole, and Sungwoo Cho each had one assist. The 5-8-1 Coyotes got two goals from Gabe Gifford. Foxcroft goalie Peyton Wellman stopped 20 of 22 shots, while Ian Bryant and Alex McCannell stopped 15 shots for Old Town.
With the win, the Ponies earned a #6 spot in the quarterfinal round where they will play at #3 Ellsworth next week. Old Town finished #9 and will play a prelim game at Caribou on Saturday.
