Freshman Ava Goulette recorded a double double (11 points and 12 rebounds) to lead the Piscataquis Community High School (PCHS) Pirates to a 35-21 win over Penquis on Tuesday night at Guilford.
The Lady PIrates brought the intensity right out of the gate jumping out to a 10-0 lead after the first eight minutes and building that advantage to 22-5 at halftime. Goulette and Kendall Kimball combined for 20 of the Pirates 28 rebounds and 26 of their 35 points. Kimball put in a game high 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
Abbey Ricker and Brylee Ricker powered the intense defensive attack, getting four and five steals respectively. Penquis outscored PCHS 16-13 in the second half. PCHS (2-1) will next play at Searsport on Thursday, December 22nd.
Addison Conklin led the Patriots with 11 points. Penquis (0-2) will host Schenck on Thursday, before traveling to Howland for a game against PVHS on Friday.
