GUILFORD- Harry Louis and Jared Ricker combined for 37 points and 21 rebounds to lead the Valley Cavaliers to a 58-50 win over PCHS in a boys basketball game played on Saturday afternoon.
The Pirates started quick as Scott Chadbourne made 3 three-pointers in the first quarter to help his team hold a 16-14 advantage after the first eight minutes. Valley outscored PCHS 15-13 in the second quarter as the teams went to halftime even at 29. Louis (10) and Ricker (8) combined for 18 in the half for the Cavaliers. Chadbourne (13) and Brady Gaw (9) combined for 22 for the Pirates.
Louis had six points in the third quarter for the Cavaliers, while Gaw had five for the Pirates. Louis went 4-4 from the free throw line, while Ricker had five points in the final quarter to help secure the win for Valley.
Chadbourne scored a game high 21 points (4 three-pointers) for the Pirates, and added 13 rebounds and two steals. Gaw had 15 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and two steals. Other scorers – Noah Kain (4), Gabe Soctomah and Dawson Simpson three each, while Ty Cobb and Ben Higgins finished with two points each. PCHS (3-5) will play at Greenville on Tuesday.
Louis finished with 20 points, seven rebounds, five steals, and two assists for the Cavaliers. Ricker had 17 points, 14 rebounds, and two blocks. Ryan West and Fisher Tewksbury each had 10 points and six rebounds. Valley (4-3) will host Pine Tree on Monday. Ricker was named Bangor Savings Bank Player of the Game.
