Maine Mariners are red hot and moving up the ECHL standings

After a slow start to their 2022-23 ECHL season, the Maine Mariners have been red hot since the calendar turned over to December. Maine topped the Norfolk Admirals on the road 3-2 Friday night, and are 13-2-1 since December 2. It is the also an eight game point streak for the team which is a franchise record, and now have a four game win streak for the first time this season.

In the Friday night win over Norfolk, Keltie Jeri-Leon scored twice and Mathew Santos had the game winner at the 8:43 mark of the second period. It is the 100th career ECHL point for Santos. Former Maine Black Bear players Mitchell Fossier (two assists) and Tim Doherty (one assist) also contributed. The Mariners are now 19-11-1 on the season, just one point behind Worcester for third place and three points behind Reading for second in the Eastern Conference Northern Division. Maine continues their five game road trip in Norfolk again Saturday night, before stops in Reading and Worcester.
