Gage Beaudry ran for three touchdowns, and Finn Holmes added two more on Friday night as the two-time defending Class D State Champion Foxcroft Academy Ponies shutout the Medomak Valley Panthers 35-0 in a high school football game played at Medomak High School in Waldoboro.
Holmes opened the scoring with a 12-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, while Beaudry had a 10-yard score in the second as Foxcroft led 14-0 at the half. Touchdown runs of 1 and 13 yards respectively for Holmes and Beaudry in the third extended the lead. After Medomak had it first and goal in the fourth quarter and couldn’t score, Beaudry capped off his huge night with a 94-yard touchdown run to cap off the impressive victory. His team has outscored their opponents 255-6 in their five games.
Beaudry was the offensive leader of the game, rushing 15 times for 188 yards and the three touchdowns for 5-0 Foxcroft Academy. Holmes finished with eight carries for 62 yards and two scores. Wyatt Rayfield went 5-9 passing for 52 yards. Jackson Smith had one catch for 24 yards, and Silas Topolski had two for 22 yards. Kemsley Marsters was 5-5 on extra points, while Phillip Bagley, Hunter McSorley, Jadon Richard, and Holmes had four tackles each to lead the Ponies defense who still hasn’t allowed a defensive touchdown in the five games played. Medomak Valley out of Class C North loses for the first time, falling to 4-1 on the season. The Panthers were held to 150 total yards in the shutout defeat, after entering the game with an average of 32.5 points scored per outing. Both teams are back in action next Friday night on the road, as Foxcroft plays at MCI and Medomak Valley travels to Cape Elizabeth.
