Gage Beaudry rushed for 146 yards and three touchdowns, and quarterback Wyatt Rayfield tossed three touchdown passes to Jadon Richard on Friday night in leading Foxcroft Academy to a 56-6 Class D football win over Freeport at Oakes Field in Dover-Foxcroft on senior night.
Richard caught scoring passes of 40 and 29 yards from Rayfield in the first quarter to get the scoring started, as Foxcroft (7-0) never looked back. Beaudry also had a three-yard touchdown run in the opening period, while Finn Holmes scored on a one-yard run and Richard caught another from Rayfield of four yards in the second. Freeport became the first team to score an offensive touchdown against the Ponies this season, when Teddy Peters connected with David Ulrickson for a 24-yard TD pass before the half. The only points FA had allowed entering Friday was a special teams kickoff return late in their week 1 win over John Bapst. Beaudry added scoring runs of 22 and 54 yards, while Jacob Johnson also had a two-yard run to finish the scoring on the night in the third quarter.
Rayfield finished 10-15 passing for 168 yards and three touchdowns in the win. Richard hauled in all three scoring passes from the quarterback, and had five receptions for 100 yards. Beaudry carried 10 times for 146 yards with three touchdowns. Kemsley Marsters was 8-8 on extra point attempts. Beaudry and Marsters also led the way on the defensive side of the ball with 4.5 and 4.0 total tackles respectively. Silas Topolski had two interceptions, and Landon Smith had another. The Ponies have now outscored their opponents 372-12 through seven games. Peters went 12-23 for 97 yards with a touchdown and three interceptions in the loss for 2-5 Freeport. Ulrickson had the lone score and had three receptions for 41 yards. Both teams finish the regular season next week as Freeport will host Cape Elizabeth on Friday night, and Foxcroft visits Winslow Saturday afternoon.
