Karleigh Smith and Mischun Cornelius both scored 18 points on Wednesday night, leading the Woodland Dragons to a 54-41 girls basketball win over Shead in a game played at Shead High School in East Machias.
Smith hit three 3-pointers, and Cornelius grabbed 24 rebounds to help Woodland improve to 8-6 on the season. Chloe Farrar added 10 points, and Kaylin Hamilton had 10 rebounds. Jenna Suddy led Shead with 22 points in the loss, as they fell to 3-10. The Tigerettes return to action Saturday when they host Deer Isle-Stonington, while the Dragons will host Jonesport-Beals next Wednesday.
