BANGOR- The MDI Trojans jumped out to a 20-0 lead after the first quarter, and never looked back in a 64-42 win over Maranacook in a MPA Class B quarterfinal game played Friday night at the Cross Insurance Center.
Mollie Gray scored 11 of her game high 19 points in the first quarter. Gray filled up the stat sheet with 11 rebounds, six assists, and five steals. She also made 4 three-pointers. MDI had a balanced attack as Lexi Tozier had 14 points, Sophia Brophy had 12 points and eight rebounds, and Lily Norwood and Aleksandra Hanley had nine points each. MDI (14-6) will play Old Town in a semifinal game on Wednesday.
Natalie Mohler scored a team high 17 points for the Black Bears. Celia Bergdahi added nine points. Maranacook finishes the season with a record of 13-6.
