The Big Green of Dartmouth scored the first seven points of the game and rolled to a 79-69 victory over the University of Maine in a men’s basketball game at the Cross Insurance Center on Wednesday night.
The Black Bears took a 17-14, when Garet Beal nailed a three pointer with 9:59 remaining in the first half. Dartmouth scored the next eight points to take a 22-17 lead. Maine cut the deficit to two in the first half, but Dartmouth went on a run to take a 42-33 lead.
The Big Green took a 49-35 lead with 16:45 remaining in the second half. The lead got as high as 20 midway through the second half.
Ryan Bernstein led the Black Bears with 13 points, eight assists, and six rebounds. Maine (2-6) will travel to Boston College on Sunday afternoon at 5 PM. The game can be seen on ESPN3.
