The Maine Celtics headed back to the conference finals for second straight season

Newly named NBA G League MVP JD Davidson had 32 points to lead five players in double figures on Thursday night, as the Maine Celtics defeated the Westchester Knicks 124-118 in a second round playoff game played at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, New York. Maine now advances to the Eastern Conference Finals for a second straight season and will take on the Osceola Magic in Florida on Sunday night.

Davidson added 17 assists, four rebounds, and two steals to go along with his game-high point total in the Maine win. Miles Norris put in 27 points (4-7 three-pointers), while Jordan Walsh had 19 points and 11 rebounds. Also scoring in double figures was Jordan Schakel with 15 points (5-10 three-pointers), and Drew Peterson with 14. The Celtics matched their franchise record in the victory, that was just set in their first round playoff win over Capital City with 20 made three-pointers.

Maine (23-13) and Osceola (24-12) will meet at 7 p.m. Sunday night at Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee, Florida for the Eastern Conference Championship with a spot in the G League Finals on the line. The Celtics will be trying for a repeat trip to the finals, and are still looking for their first title in franchise history.
