Softball is very important to Erin McNally. When McNally broke her arm in a skiing accident on January 10th, her arm shattered in 12 pieces and she needed surgery. Softball seemed like a long shot for the freshman at that time. After surgery, McNally has joined the Central Aroostook Panthers and has been cleared to throw and the hope is within 4 weeks for her to be able to catch and hit.
“I feel very grateful for being able to play softball again! After being told by my surgeon that it was gonna be a long recovery,”McNally said. “I experienced the fear of potentially not being able to play my favorite sport. It feels good to be back on the field even if it’s a few steps at a time.”
The Panthers are scheduled to open their regular season at Southern Aroostook on April 29th. The home opener is scheduled on May 1st against Ashland.![]()
McNally said, “you cant control injuries, but you can control how hard you work to come back.”
