Braelyn Wilcox and Kenzie Gallant had two hits each to lead Hermon softball to an 8-3 preseason win over Bucksport. Rebecca Balmas and Molly Simcox each scored two runs, while Mikelle Verrill had three RBI, and Sophie Peterson added two RBI for the Hawks. Verrill allowed one run in four innings, Katie Fowler pitched two shutout innings, Balmas struck out four in one inning.
Lexi Raymond, Allie Hanscom, and Jetta Shook had two hits each for the Bucks. Natalie Simpson allowed eight runs (four earned) on 10 hits and six walks, while striking out 11.
