Another eighth inning rally leads the Sea Dogs to third straight win

Tyler Miller lifted an RBI sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth inning on Thursday night, as the Sea Dogs defeated the Reading Fightin’ Phils 4-3 at Delta Dental Park in Portland.

Portland (10-6) has used the eighth inning as their rally frame this week at home. The Sea Dogs scored five runs in the eighth on Tuesday in 9-8 win, four in the eighth on Wednesday as part of a 5-1 victory, before two runs Thursday evening led them to their third straight win. Miller had three RBI that included a two-run homerun, while Ahbram Liendo had two hits. Zach Bryant (1-0) fired 1.2 scoreless innings with three strikeouts in relief to get the pitching victory. They’ll try to clinch the series win vs Reading (5-13) on Friday evening at 6 p.m.
