Bulla McCabe went 6-9 at the plate and and had six RBI on Friday afternoon, helping to lead Husson softball to a North Atlantic Conference sweep over Lesley University 12-0 and 13-0 in Revere, Massachusetts.
McCabe had three hits including a double and a triple and three RBI in the game one win that ended by mercy in five innings. Tatyanna Biamby (Gorham) and Julia Gregiore (Massabesic) added two hits a piece for the Eagles, while Gregiore and Lydia Rice (Winthrop) drove in two runs each. Jazmin Johnson (Lawrence) got the victory in the circle to improve to 2-0 on the season going the full 5.0 innings allowing just two hits with no walks and six strikeouts. In the second contest, McCabe picked up where she left off with a first inning RBI double. She also smacked a two-run homerun in the fifth. Gregiore also hit a solo homer in that same frame, as she had four hits and three RBI. The Eagles really pulled away with a six-run seventh inning. Camryn King (Nokomis) added three hits and an RBI, while Kiara McLeod (Oxford Hills) also had three hits with two driven in. Sierra Yates (2-0) earned the pitching victory giving up three hits with two walks and five strikeouts in the complete game effort. The Lynx of Lesley University fall to 6-20 overall and 1-3 in the North Atlantic Conference.
Husson (20-10, 4-0 in the NAC) returns home for Senior Day on Sunday when they host the University of Maine-Presque Isle for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. at O’Keefe Field in Bangor.
