This is the page to get updates for the class D state championship game that will be played Saturday evening at Fitzpatrick Stadium in Portland. The most recent updates will be at the top.

An improbable ending. Here is the recap

9:00- Setting up for a Varney field goal attempt.

8;57 Buker with a big run to get a first down at Lisbon 39. 18 seconds left.

8:56- 32.4 seconds left MCI ball.

8:54- incomplete, 4th down.

8:53- Seth Bussell with a huge tackle. 3rd and long for Lisbon. Under a minute left.

8:51- A huge personal foul penalty on the Huskies.

8:44- Josh Buker is doing it all. Flips it to Bussell for a touchdown, 14-14.

8:42- Personal foul on Lisbon. Sets up MCI at Lisbon 31, Buker gains 10 on the net play.

8:35- big run by Bertrand to get the Huskies out to the 12 and a first down.

8:33- Halls punts it and pins MCI at 1.

8:30- Ball gets taken right out of Buker’s hands. Turnover, ball goes to Lisbon.

8:25- 14-7 heading to the fourth. MCI ball.

8:18- Buker to Bertrand 58 yard touchdown. Extra point is good. 14-7

8:14- Still 14-0. Under 4 minutes left in 3rd.

8:02- Halls with a 25 yard gain on first play from scrimmage in second half.

7:34-Lisbon 14 MCI 0- half

7:23- Tyler Halls with a 10 yard touchdown run. That is two for him. 2 point play worked this time. 14-0 with 2:32 left in first half.

7:17- turnover on downs as the Huskies throw deep in 4th and 1.

7:12- Tyler Halls with a six yard touchdown run. 2 point failed. Lisbon leads 6-0 with 6:08 left in halftime.

7:08- three and out from MCI. Lisbon ball at 38 after Buker’s punt.

7:05- MCI ball after Lisbon turnover.

6:54- no score end of first.

6:51- Sophomore Hunter Job with an interception for Lisbon.

6:43- MCI has 13 play drive, but Lisbon defense comes up big when they needed to.

6:39- big 4th down completion from Buker to Bertrand.

6:38- MCI has had a good drive, but now 4th and 5.

6:30- Lisbon defers. MCI gets ball first.

6:00- Actually going to be a 6:20 start.

5:52- Greyhound coach Dick Mynahan will be coaching his final game. He is retiring after 38 years.

5:47- Game will kick off around 6:30.

12:45 PM- MCI is 11-0. They defeated Bucksport and Dexter in the D North playoffs. The Huskies lost to Oak Hill in the 2014 and 2015 Ststr title games.

12:40 PM- Lisbon is 8-1. They have won eight straight since losing to Winghrop/Monmouth 31-12 in the season opener. The Greyhounds defeated Oak Hill and Winthrop/Monmouth in the South Playoffs.
