The Hermon Hawks got some timely hits, and a three-hitter in the circle from Braelyn Wilcox on Tuesday to beat Bangor 3-1 in a game at Hermon High School pitting the top softball teams in Class A and B.
Olivia Johnston delivered the game winning RBI single in the fourth inning for the Hawks (13-1), who have now won 10 games in a row. Sophie Peterson and Kenzie Gallant had two hits each. Wilcox fired a complete game, walking four and striking out 15. Leah Walker scored all three runs. Sophie Lynch had two hits and a RBI double for the Rams. Emma Tripp gave up three runs on seven hits, with three walks and three strikeouts from the circle. Class A Bangor falls to 10-4.
