Machias baseball rallies past Woodland

Mickey Fitzsimmons had two hits and four RBI, and also got the pitching win to lead Machias baseball to a 9-7 comeback win over Woodland on Wednesday.

The Bulldogs trailed 4-1 after three innings, before scoring two in the fourth and five in the fifth to take over the lead for good. Lucas Robicheau, Blake Bridges, Webster Case, and Ayden Dennison all drove in a run each. Robicheau and Tyler Alley scored a pair of runs. Fitzsimmons went 6.1 innings on the mound allowing seven runs (four earned) on five hits, with four walks and five strikeouts. Isaiah Nicholas drove in three for the Dragons, Isaac Downing and Liam O’Neill had two hits each, while Downing, Gaige Farrar, and Micah Chesebrough scored two runs a piece.
