The Sanford Mainers opened up their 2025 Northeast Collegiate Baseball League season on Sunday evening, dropping a 6-4 decision to the Vermont Mountaineers at Montpelier Recreation Field in Montpelier, Vermont.

Several state of Maine products appeared in the game for Sanford.
