Mattanawcook Academy scored seven times in the fourth inning on Thursday afternoon, and would pull away from MCI 11-1 in six innings in a Class C softball quarterfinal game played in Lincoln.
Addison Cyr and Karli Spinney both drove in two runs for the Lynx. Julianna Cloukey and Kalista Lazo had two hits and scored two runs a piece, while Megan House and Vanessa Morse also came across to score twice. Cloukey went the distance and picked up the victory in the circle allowing one run (none earned) on six hits with two walks and six strikeouts. Jyllian Riendeau had two hits for the #7 Huskies. Kassie Snowman suffered the pitching defeat giving up 11 runs (two earned) on 10 hits with two walks and 12 strikeouts. MCI finishes their season with a record of 10-8. #2 Mattanawcook, now 14-3, will host #3 seed Narraguagus on Saturday in Lincoln in the semifinals with a time to be announced.
