Marina Keene had a three-run double and a two-run double (five RBI) on Thursday afternoon, in helping to lead top seeded Bucksport to a 12-1 Class C softball quarterfinal win over Dexter in six innings in a game played at Bucksport.
Keene, Jetta Shook (3-4, three RBI), and Natalie Simpson (2-3, two RBI) combined to go 7-11 at the plate with 10 RBI for the Golden Bucks. Simpson also hit a solo homer. Lexi Raymond, Addison Harvey, and Brie Rotella each had two hits and scored two runs. Simpson went the distance in the circle allowing one run on four hits didn’t walk anyone and struckout nine. Kallie Stone had two hits and one RBI for the #8 Tigers, while also taking the defeat in the circle giving up 12 runs (six earned) on 15 hits with three walks and one strikeout. Dexter ends their season with a record of 11-7. Bucksport, now 16-1, will host #5 Orono in the semifinals on Saturday with a time to be announced in a game that will be broadcasted to you courtesy of Eastern Maine Sports.
