Welch pitches a no-hitter and drives in three, as WA tops Mt. View in Class C baseball semifinals

James Welch did it with his arm and his bat on Saturday afternoon, firing a no-hitter on the mound and driving in three runs as Washington Academy rolled to a 10-0 five inning win over Mt. View in a Class C semifinal baseball game in East Machias.

Welch also had two hits, a stolen base, and scored two runs in the Raiders victory. He would strike out 10 without issuing a walk in his pitching masterpiece. Trevor Shimabukuro added two hits (triple, solo homerun), two RBI, and scored three runs. Daniel Gardner and Jayden Mahar also contributed two RBI each.
