Motor City Hampden Riverdogs sweep Senior Legion baseball doubleheader over the Downeast Captains

The Motor City Hampden Riverdogs scored seven times in the second inning on Wednesday afternoon, in defeating the Downeast Captains 12-2 in five innings in game one of a doubleheader in a Senior Legion baseball game played at Hampden Academy. Motor City took advantage of six errors to complete the sweep in game two with a 7-3 victory.

Nykson Moors had two hits and three RBI to lead the Riverdogs in game one. Rogan Lord had two hits, two RBI, and scored two runs. Noah Kain also had two RBI. Ashton O’Roak got the win on the mound allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits with two walks and one strikeout in 4.0 innings. Kain had three hits and a RBI in the game two victory for Motor City (3-0), and Andrew Cote had two hits. Cote and Lord (three each) combined to swipe six of the nine bags the Riverdogs stole. Andrew McKenney pitched 4.0 innings to get the pitching win, and Kain fired a perfect final 3.0 frames with six strikeouts.
