The Trenton offense explodes in Senior Legion Baseball sweep over Hampden

The Trenton Acadians swept a Senior Legion Baseball doubleheader in Hampden over the Riverdogs on Wednesday night, scoring 32 runs while pounding a total of 39 hits.

In game one- Trenton scored multiple runs in four of the seven innings (including eight in the seventh), to send Hampden to their first loss of the season 16-3. Colin Sullivan and Jackson Barry both had three RBI to lead the Acadians. Sullivan hit a solo homerun, had three total hits, and scored four times. Dawson Curtis smacked four hits, drove in two with a two-run homer, and also scored four runs. Logan Crowley chipped in two hits and two RBI. Miles Palmer got the victory on the mound going 4.0 innings allowing three runs on two hits while walking eight and striking out three. Michael MacDonald drove in two runs for the Riverdogs.

In game two- Hampden rallied from down 13-3 to take a 14-13 lead with a seven run sixth inning on a Bodie Bishop infield RBI single, but Trenton scored three times in the seventh getting a tie-breaking and game winning RBI double from Barry to complete the sweep 16-14. Sullivan hit his second homer of the evening (three-run shot), finishing with two hits and four RBI for the Acadians. Barry, Palmer, Crowley, and Wyatt Bragdon all added two RBI a piece. Barry also earned the win on the hill in relief for Trenton (6-3). Nykson Moors had two hits, three RBI, and scored twice for the Riverdogs. Isaac Leamer added three hits and a RBI. Hampden (8-2) has their next regular season game at Skowhegan on Monday, while Trenton will also be in action Monday in a doubleheader at Central Maine in Waterville.
