Tom Brady statue unveiled at Gillette Stadium, Patriots crush the Commanders in preseason opener

The New England Patriots unveiled a 12-foot bronze statue to honor Tom Brady at Gillette Stadium on Friday prior to their preseason opener. TB12 was in attendance for the unveiling and made a speech. First year head coach and former teammate Mike Vrabel and owner Robert Kraft also participated in the event.

The Patriots beat the Washington Commanders in their first tune-up of the year 48-18. QB Drake Maye played one series and went 3-5 passing for 12 yards and also rushed for a five-yard touchdown. Draft pick TreVeyon Henderson (Ohio St.) also returned the opening kickoff 100 yards for a score
