At Boucher Field in Bangor on Wednesday- Emma Nicholson scored an early second half game winning unassisted goal as Husson women’s soccer defeated Plymouth State 2-1.
Goaltender Madison Weigler also scored on a penalty kick in the first half for the 9-4-1 Eagles. In net, she made one save. Husson will take their 5-0-1 North Atlantic Conference record into a homecoming league matchup with UMaine-Farmington on Saturday at 11 a.m.
At Mercy Field in Standish on Wednesday- Maddie Perkins (Winthrop) had three goals, including the game winner, and also added an assist as the Husson field hockey team rolled past Saint Joseph’s College 6-1.
Averi Baker (Hall-Dale) chipped in one goal and two assists, while Tessa Capozzoli and Lauryn Brown (Orono) each contributed a goal. Ella Duchette (Brunswick) made three saves in net for the 5-6 Eagles. The loss is just the second of the season at home for the 8-6 Monks. Husson will take their 2-0 CMCFHC record into a homecoming league game against UMaine-Farmington at the Winkin Complex on Saturday at 6 p.m.
