Senior running back Montie Quinn of Curry College (Massachusetts) football set an NCAA record on Saturday in a 71-27 Conference of New England Division III win over Nichols College.
Quinn rushed for 522 yards on 20 carries and scored seven touchdowns, as the Colonels improved to 5-1 and 3-0 in the CNE. The Conference of New England includes teams from Maine in Husson, the University of New England, and Maine Maritime Academy. For the season in six games, the running back now has 1,450 yards (241.7 per game average) and 17 touchdowns.
