The Central Maine Community College Mustang men’s soccer team capped off an undefeated season as they went 3-0 in the USCAA Division II National Tournament in Pennsylvania, culminating in a second straight title by winning the national championship game on Monday.
The Mustangs defeated Paul Smith’s College on Friday 2-0, and Penn State Lehigh Valley 3-2 on Saturday to advance to the final. Matty Waters would score the game winner in the title game Monday, putting in the only one that was needed just 1:35 into the match in a 2-0 victory over Cincinnati-Clermont. He scored again in the 52nd minute for some breathing room. Albie Fozard-Oakes had an assist on both. Cody Cleaveland (Lincoln Academy) made six saves to pick up the shutout. It is sixth national championship in school history, but the men’s soccer team is the first to do it back to back and also without losing a game all season (16-0-3). CMCC ends 2025 with a 32-game unbeaten streak (28-0-4), with their last defeat coming in September of 2024 against Berkeley College.
