Hanley Ramirez will be playing meaningful baseball before opening day this spring.
Ramirez announced on Friday that he will be participating in the 2017 World Baseball Classic.
The Red Sox first baseman will try and help the Dominican Republic defend their title. Ramirez was part of the 2014 team that won the championship.
