The nationally ranked UMaine-Augusta men’s and women’s basketball teams sweep YSCC doubleheader

The nationally ranked University of Maine-Augusta men’s and women’s basketball teams continued to roll along on Saturday afternoon, sweeping a Yankee Small College Conference doubleheader over Word of Life in Pottersville, New York.

The men’s team, ranked #7 in USCAA Division II, scored 51 points in the second half in a 70-61 win. Khalif Betts had 20 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and four steals to lead the Moose (13-8, 9-1 YSCC) who have won seven games in a row. The women’s team won 91-42 for their sixth straight victory. Sage Fortin (Cony) was the leading scorer with 19 points, seven assists, and three steals. Fortin (4-9), Bella Petrocci (4-12), and Yvonne Roberge (3-4) combined to hit 11 three-pointers. The #2 ranked Lady Moose improve to 10-3 and 6-1 in the YSCC.
