Bowdoin edges Colby in NESCAC women’s basketball action

In a very exciting NESCAC women’s basketball game in Waterville on Saturday, January 24th nationally ranked #7 Bowdoin held off Colby 61-59.

The Mules (11-6, 2-2 NESCAC) got off a three-point attempt to win it at the buzzer by Amelia Hanscom, but it fell short as the Polar Bears stayed unbeaten in league play. Kate Olenik led Colby with a game-high 24 points (2-3 three-pointers), while also grabbing eight rebounds. Hanscom and Lydia Mordarski (3-4 three-pointers) both contributed 14 points. Abbie Quinn (Bangor) put in 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the victory for Bowdoin who improves to 15-1 and 4-0 in the NESCAC.
