Husson basketball sweeps NAC doubleheader at UMPI

North Atlantic Conference basketball results in Presque Isle on Saturday, January 31-

Men’s: Husson 85, UMPI 72. The Eagles used a 17-4 second half run to take the lead for good. Four players in double figures led by Eric Ahlers (29 points), Gil Matondo (20), Christian Smith (18), and Connor Heald (16). Yuki Ishibashi with 20 points for the Owls (9-12, 7-7 NAC). Husson is now 13-8 and 12-2 in league play.

Women’s: Husson 78, UMPI 34. The Eagles got out to a 19-4 lead after one quarter and never trailed. Saige Evans (Old Town) 16 points and 10 rebounds, Lilly Roy (Wisdom) also puts in 16, and Sophia Carnes added 11. Navaeh Bello (South Portland) had 16 points for the Owls who fall to 2-18 and 1-13 in the NAC. Evans has now recorded a double double in 10 straight games as Husson improves 13-7 and 12-2 in the conference.
