CMCC men’s hockey ranked in the top five of ACHA Division III

The Central Maine Community College men’s club ice hockey team is ranked #4 in the country in the most recent American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division III rankings. The Mustangs are 19-3 and 8-0 in the NECHA Colonial North Division. CMCC skated past Dartmouth and the University of New England by scores of 7-1 and 9-1 in their most recent games. Aaron Higgins (Falmouth) leads the team with 55 points (22 goals, 33 assists). Dylan Blue (Lewiston) has recorded 42 points (18&24), Sam Foley (Windham) has contributed 38 points (16&22), and Michael Belleau (Lewiston) has registered 32 points (11&21). Cam Wickens has started 18 games in net and has a 14-3 record with a 1.90 goals against average, a .943 save percentage, and five shutouts. Jordy Knoren is the head coach and also serves as the fitness center coordinator at CMCC, serving all athletic programs at the school as the strength and conditioning coach. The Mustangs, who won picked up their first ever victory in the ACHA Division III National Tournament last season (won twice), has two games left in the regular season with road games at Colby and Dartmouth this Thursday and Saturday respectively.
