Bruins comeback falls short against Caps

Nicklaus Backstrom scored the game winning goal just 1:36 into overtime to lead the Washington Capitals to a 4-3 win over the Boston Bruins on Wednesday night at Washington.

Justin Williams scored one goal just 23 seconds into the game and another one seven minutes later to give the Caps a quick 2-0 lead. 

The Caps built the lead to 3-0 early into the second period. The Bruins got goals from Dominic Moore and David Pastrnak in the second period and Colin Miller in the third period to send the game to overtime. The Bruins outshot the Caps 34-20. 

Boston will be back at the TD Garden on Thursday night against the Avalanche.
