Polly Cullen and Ayanna Lester both filled up the stat sheet on Thursday night in helping to lead Katahdin to a 48-23 Class S girls basketball quarterfinal win over Van Buren at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.
Cullen had 15 points, eight rebounds, seven steals, and two assists. Lester added 13 points, six rebounds, four blocked shots, two assists, and one steal for the #2 seeded 17-2 Cougars. Cullen was named the Pine State Nutrition player of the game. Emily Lapierre had 16 points, four rebounds, and two steals for the Crusaders.
