Husson men’s and women’s basketball finished off their regular seasons on Friday and Saturday- here are the results and their NAC playoff seeding:
Men’s
Friday: Husson 111, Vermont State University Lyndon 75. Leading scorer- Eric Ahlers 33 points, seven rebounds (7-12 three-pointers).
Saturday: Husson 122, Vermont State University Johnson 80. Leading scorer- Ahlers 24 points, five rebounds (6-13 three-pointers). Eagles set a program record for assists in a game (30) and three-pointers made (22). The 122 points is the most since they scored 123 in 2008 in a win over UMPI.
Husson finished the regular season at 16-9 (15-3 in the NAC), and will be the #2 seed in the postseason tournament. The Eagles await their opponent and will host the semifinals in Bangor on Sunday, February 22nd. Time and opponent TBA.
Women’s
Friday: Husson 70, Vermont State University Lyndon 56. Leading scorer- Saige Evans (Old Town) 17 points, 13 rebounds.
Saturday: Husson 76, Vermont State University Johnson 51. Leading scorer- Evans 21 points, five rebounds.
Husson finishes 17-8 (15-3 in the NAC) and will also be the #2 seed in the postseason. The Eagles will host either UMaine-Farmington or VSU Lyndon in the semifinals on Sunday, February 22nd. Time and opponent TBA.
