Top seeded Gardiner outscored Presque Isle 32-14 between the second and third quarters combined on Wednesday night in pulling away for a 46-29 Class B girls basketball semifinal win at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.
Alexa Quintana and Maddie McMahon both scored 11 points to lead the Tigers. Molly Takatsu added eight points, six rebounds, and four assists as Gardiner advanced to play Lawrence in the Class B regional championship game on Friday night at 5 p.m. Marion Young had a game-high 13 points for the Wildcats. Breanna Burlock chipped in five points, while Georganna Curtis put in a basket for two points but was also all over the glass with 12 rebounds for Presque Isle.
