Fourth quarter run lifts Madawaska boys into regional championship game

Madawaska used a fourth quarter run on Thursday morning to defeat Fort Fairfield 51-38 in a Class D boys basketball semifinal game played at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.

The Owls ended the game on a 20-6 spurt after the Tigers took a 32-31 lead early in the fourth. Quinn Pelletier led Madawaska with 19 points and nine rebounds, while Bradley Kennedy recorded a double double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. The Owls will take on the Machias Bulldogs in the Class D regional championship game on Saturday afternoon at 3:45 p.m. Cayden Ala led Fort Fairfield with 14 points, while Nicholas O’Neal put in seven.
