UMaine-Farmington women’s basketball rolls past Husson in the NAC semifinals

UMaine-Farmington raced out to an 18 point halftime lead on Sunday afternoon, and rolled past Husson 64-40 in a North Atlantic Conference women’s basketball semifinal game played at Newman Gymnasium in Bangor.

The Beavers (20-7) were able to build that lead at 29-11 at the break due mostly to the Eagles shooting 14.7% from the field in the first half and also committing 11 turnovers. Jessica Dow (Thornton Academy) had 24 points on 9-12 shooting and also grabbed six rebounds to lead UMF, while Jaydn Pingree (Spruce Mountain) recorded a double double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. The Beavers will play at top seeded Maine Maritime Academy (18-8) in Castine in the NAC Championship game next Saturday. Laela Martinez and Saige Evans (Old Town) led Husson with 15 points and 11 points respectively. Evans also had a double double with 10 rebounds, as the Eagles season comes to an end with a record of 17-9.
