The Husson softball team opened their 2026 season with a pair of wins in Winter Haven, Florida on Friday afternoon.
Lydia Rice provided all the Eagles offense in game 1 with a pair of RBI doubles, and Ana Lang (Searsport) spun a beauty in the circle in a 2-0 win over Marian University. Lang went the distance allowing just three hits while walking none and striking out 12.
Rice had two more hits in game 2, while Liv Noyes and Morgan Curtis (Gray-New Gloucester) both drove in a pair of runs in a 9-1 five inning victory over Norwich University. Sierra Yates got the pitching win allowing one run (none earned) on two hits with three walks and three strikeouts. Husson will play Kean University and Gordon College on Saturday afternoon.
