Maine women’s ice hockey player will build her brand and have NIL representation
Release from Pliable
ORONO, Maine – Lulu Rucinski (Orono, MN) from the women’s ice hockey team at the University of Maine announced today she has signed with Pliable Marketing for name, image, and likeness (NIL) representation and athlete branding development. Rucinski becomes one of the more than 35 athletes that Pliable represents across the country and 5th athlete at the University of Maine.
Rucinski, 19, a native of Orono, Minnesota, is a rising Division I hockey player known for her resilience, leadership, and consistent performance on the ice. Currently pursuing a degree in Sport Management at the University of Maine, she brings a strong combination of athletic excellence and business-minded focus to her growing personal brand.
“I’m excited to join the team of Pliable athletes and take the next step in building my athlete brand,” said Rucinski. “I’m passionate about growing the game of women’s ice hockey, connecting with my community both in Orono, Maine and Orono, Minnesota and beyond. Greg has built an amazing team of athletes, including many women’s ice hockey players, who are creating amazing opportunities that go far beyond sports.”
Throughout her high school career, Rucinski earned multiple All-Conference honors and gained national recognition, including an invitation to the USA Hockey 16/17 Player Development Camp.
As a freshman at the University of Maine, Rucinski made an immediate impact, recording 15 points and earning Hockey East Defender of the Week honors twice during the season. Despite facing injury challenges early in her collegiate career, including ankle surgery in March 2026, Rucinski has continued to demonstrate resilience and determination in her recovery.
“Lulu has all the attributes that I look for in an athlete, she has a positive attitude, she’s grateful for the opportunity to play the sport she loves, and she has clearly put in the effort to be one of the best hockey players from Minnesota and will be a great addition to the team. I also think the fact that she is from Orono, Minnesota and goes to college in Orono, Maine is going to be something we can have a lot of fun with. We’ve talked about a lot of NIL, but also how she plans to use her platform as an athlete as a way to give back and inspire the next generation of female athletes. She is going to have a lot of opportunities in front of her and we’re both excited to get started,” said Greg Glynn, founder and CEO of Pliable Marketing.
Through this partnership, Pliable Marketing will support Rucinski with NIL strategy, brand development, partnership opportunities, and long-term career planning.
