Husson softball sweeps doubleheaders from Delhi and Cobleskill to stay unbeaten in NAC play

#20 Husson softball went to 12-0 in North Atlantic Conference play and extended their win streak to eight games, as they swept a doubleheader by mercy rule on Friday over SUNY Delhi and also took two games at SUNY Cobleskill on Saturday.

On Friday at Delhi- The Eagles won game one 13-1 in five innings and game two in six by a score of 9-1. Morgan Curtis (Gray-New Gloucester) was the offensive leader on the day with nine RBI in the doubleheader sweep. Ana Lang (Searsport) went the distance and picked up the game one win in the circle allowing one run (none earned) on one hit with one walk and 11 strikeouts. Jazmin Johnson (Lawrence) alsp went the distance in game two to get the victory giving up one run on four hits with no walks and three strikeouts.

On Saturday at Cobleskill- The Eagles rolled in game one 9-0, before getting a run in the top of the seventh to squeeze out game two by a score of 2-1. Lydia Rice (Winthrop) and Emily Dunbar (Skowhegan) led the offense in game one with two RBI each. Rice homered. Lang spun an absolute beauty in the circle with a complete game one hit shutout, giving up just one hit with one walk and 17 strikeouts. Rice hit a seventh inning homerun to lead Husson to the game two victory. Lang recorded her third win of the weekend to improve to 17-3 on the season, this time in relief allowing one run on three hits with no walks and 11 strikeouts over the final 4.0 innings. The Eagles are now 29-4 overall and will play a conference doubleheader at UMPI on Wednesday afternoon.
