The Boston Bruins are now on the verge of being eliminated in the first round of the NHL Playoffs. The Buffalo Sabres scored four times in the first period and breezed to a 6-1 win at TD Garden on Sunday afternoon in Game 4.
The Sabres win both games in Boston (combined score of 9-2) and now head back home with a 3-1 series lead in the best of seven with Game 5 in Buffalo coming up Tuesday night at 7:30. Josh Doan had the game winning goal, as they put three into the back of the net in the first 9:15 of action. Jeremy Swayman gave up all six goals on 29 shots before being relieved by Joonas Korpisalo with 13:19 left in the third period. Sean Kuraly spoiled the shutout bid of Alex Lyon (23 saves) with a shorthanded goal with 40 seconds remaining in the game.
