Brooklyn Federico (Monmouth) hit a homerun and drove in two runs on Sunday afternoon, as Thomas College completed a doubleheader sweep and a weekend road sweep of North Atlantic Conference games with a 15-2 win over Vermont State University Lyndon.
The Terriers scored eight times in the fifth inning to win the contest by mercy rule. Federico (3-1) allowed one run (none earned) in 4.0 innings in the circle on three hits with three walks and eight strikeouts. Mackenzie Toner (Erskine) added two hits and three RBI, while Maeve Hickok, Maddy Morris (Skowhegan), and Morgan Duhaime (Ellsworth) all contributed two hits and two RBI. Thomas won Game 1 in five innings as well at Lyndon 15-0, and on Saturday defeated Vermont State University Johnson 14-3 and 5-2. The Terriers are now 18-17 and 11-3 in the NAC and will finish the regular season with a league doubleheader at UMaine-Farmington on Saturday afternoon.
