The #20 Husson Eagles rolled to a pair of mercy ruled five inning North Atlantic Conference softball wins over Lesley University on Senior Day at O’Keefe Field in Bangor on Saturday, finishing up yet another undefeated league regular season. Husson has now won 58 straight games (including playoffs) over NAC opponents with their last loss coming on April 30, 2022 when they fell 3-0 to UMPI.
The Eagles took Game 1 by a score of 13-0 and Game 2 with an 11-0 final. Camryn King (Nokomis) had three hits and four RBI, while also stealing two bases and scoring three times in the opening contest. Braelynn Wilcox (Hermon) added a three-run hit and Taylor Watterson had two hits and two RBI. Ana Lang (Searsport) improved to 20-3 by combining with Sierra Yates and Jazmin Johnson (Lawrence) on a five inning no-hitter. Sophia Lynch (Bangor) had two hits and four RBI in the second game including a two-run homerun. Emily Dunbar (Skowhegan) and Liv Noyes had two hits each. Dunbar had two RBI and Noyes had one. Wilcox (2-0) pitched the first 4.0 innings to get the victory in the circle. Husson has won 12 in a row going to 33-4 (16-0 NAC) and will host the league tournament next week at O’Keefe Field with the full schedule to be announced.
Husson honored senior players Lydia Rice (Winthrop), Morgan Tainter, Tayler Watterson, Emily Dunbar, and Morgan Curtis (Gray-New Gloucester) before the doubleheader on Saturday.
