Dexter rallied from an early 3-0 deficit to get a walk-off 5-4 baseball win over Bangor Christian on Saturday afternoon.
Gaige Farrar had a big hit to give the Patriots a 3-0 lead in the second inning. Farrar ripped a double that scored three.
Blaze Morris shut down the Tigers until they rallied in the fourth inning. After Morris struck out the leadoff hitter, Noah Kain got hit by a pitch, Will Simpson walked, Isiah Robinson singled to score Kain. Colin Mountain followed with a walk, JJ Cobb walked with the bases loaded to cut the deficit to 3-2. Robinson came into score to even the score on a Gabe Cupero groundout.
Jack Dorr started off the sixth inning with a single and came around to score to give the Patriots a 4-3 lead. Dexter responded when Mountain led off the bottom of the sixth inning with a single and came in to tie score when Cupero drilled a deep triple.
Simpson got around a seventh inning jam when he picked off a runner. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Kody Kimball led off with a walk and advanced to second on an error. Kain reached on an intentional walk. Kimball and Kain executed a double steal. With Simpson at bat with an 0-2 count, Kimball came in and scored the game winning run on a wild pitch.
Morris pitched five innings, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks with 10 strikeouts. Farrar had three RBI. Morris reached base twice. Bangor Christian (4-1) will be at Central on Friday.
Brady Gaw allowed three runs on five hits and one walk with four strikeouts in five innings. Simpson picked up the win on the mound, allowing one run on one hit with two strikeouts in two innings. Kain reached base three times with two hits and one walk. Mountain and Simpson each reached base twice. Dexter (4–1) is scheduled to play at Orono on Monday.
