#3 seed Thomas College scored three times in the bottom of the eighth inning on Friday afternoon, and advanced to the North Atlantic Conference Baseball Championship Series with a 5-3 win over SUNY Cobleskill in an elimination game at the Winkin Complex in Bangor.
Gus Hollen (Freeport) tied it for the Terriers with a RBI sacrifice fly in that eighth inning, and Jeremy Spencer won it with a two-run single to right centerfield. Jake Brazzano had three hits and one RBI, while Ryan Lansing and Tony Woodie had two hits each for the Fighting Tigers. Woodie also had one RBI and walked three times. #2 SUNY Cobleskill was eliminated and ends up with a final record of 20-21. Ajay Rychcik led Thomas in hits with three, while Hollen and Spencer had two hits and two RBI each. DJ Cagnina (Marshwood) also added two hits. Ankit Shah (4-2) earned the pitching victory allowing two earned runs on 10 hits with two walks and one strikeout in eight innings. Brody Walsh (Mt.Blue) worked the ninth inning to get his second save of the year. The Terriers are now 20-20 and will face top seed Husson in the NAC Championship Series for a second straight season beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. Thomas needs to beat Husson twice to capture the 2026 NAC Title.
